There are times that machine quilting can be expensive.  Please review the following things you can do to properly prepare your quilt.  In the end it will help us be more efficient and incur less costs for you.

Always make sure that you have squared your quilt top and your quilt backing material.  If there are lots of pieces in the outside border of the top, be sure to trim it up evenly.  We have to pin the top and bottom of your quilt to rollers.  If it isn't square or trimmed, it will not mount straight and therefore you could end up with puckers or little tucks because of excess or uneven fabric.
(Cost to square up quilt top ~ $10; cost to square up backing ~ $10.)

Pressing your quilt top and backing is also important.  If you have properly pressed during the construction of the quilt top, you will have no problem doing a final pressing before sending it to us.  Pressing will make your quilt top quilt more easily and look so much nicer.  Don't forget to press the backing so that no creases will form on the back.
(Cost to press quilt top ~ $15; cost to press quilt back ~ $10.)

Some quilts require that the backing fabric be pieced. Remember to remove all the selvedges as they are not woven in the same way as the rest of the fabric.
(Cost to piece backing fabric ~ $15.)

Repairs to poor piecing or rippled borders are charged by the hour.  We have a document describing the proper way to measure and sew border on onto your quilt.  If you would like one, please email or call us ~ 603-778-6994.
(Cost for repairs ~ $15 per hour.)

Backing and batting must be 4 inches larger on all sides than quilt top.

Mark the top by pinning a piece of paper at the top of the quilt so we will know where to being.

Do not pin or baste.
